V child health agencies to improve access to basic dental services for
low-income children who are not eligible for Medicaid Title XIX, un- or
under-insured, enrolled in a Title V child health center, and meet Title
XXI program family income guidelines.
Offered to more
than 150 elementary and junior high schools in communities with
fluoride-deficient water, and to schools with a large rural enrollment.
The program provides fluoride packets, dispensers, toothbrushes, dental
floss, posters, and teachers’ manuals.
Provided at 28
locations across the state, this program serves children age 0-21 years
who are not eligible for Medicaid Title XIX, un- or under-insured,
enrolled in a Title V child health center, meet Title XXI program family
income guidelines, and have special health care needs such as asthma,
cancer, or ADD.
Dental cards
provided to families by schools and dental offices can promote better
oral health for children; a downloadable card template is available at
this web site.
