The Iowa EPSDT Care for Kids Provider Resource Web Site

This web site is a component of Iowa's Healthy Mental Development initiative.  On this site, providers will find useful tools, resources, and links recommended by the EPSDT Collaborative Board and the Healthy Mental Development (HMD) Panel.

• The EPSDT Collaborative Board advises Iowa Medicaid on EPSDT policies.

• The HMD Panel includes public and private health care providers, parents, and other stakeholders, who work together to identify:

  • Standards for the early identification of young children

  • Medicaid barriers

  • Screening tools

  • Anticipatory guidance materials

  • A referral process to assure that children get the services they need 

Iowa's Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment program (EPSDT) is administered by the  Iowa Medicaid Enterprise at the Iowa Department of Human Services, in collaboration with:

• Iowa Department of Public Health

• Iowa Prevention of Disabilities Policy Council

• Center for Disabilities and Development, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics

• Iowa Child Health Specialty Clinic
